Who would read your article, view your artwork or listen to your piece?
Sasural is a virtual Desi community, with readers, writers, lurkers and critics. When published, you will be read, re-read, dissected and critiqued. You can be sure that, unlike a newspaper where your article might end up wrapped around fried fish, at Sasural, diverse and sometimes articulate people will read it and provide responses. On most occasions to be published on Sasural is a positive experience, that provides an opportunity to self-evaluate your own work and possibly improve on it.
What should you write?
At Sasural, you can write from the heart, as long as you don’t ignore your mind. At Sasural, ideas are celebrated. Write what you really think about current events, about your life, about anything that makes an impact on you. Sasural’s readership loves to read political analysis, reviews, translations, research-based articles, short stories and poetry. Sasural is about people, intersections, chance meetings and real conversation. You never know who you may meet at Sasural. The opportunities are endless, you may find new friends, find found business opportunities, still others may get published by other newspapers and magazines because of being published at Sasural. So speak up and say what you really think.
